What is the Eztrackz ad tracking service?

Eztrackz ad tracking is a service that allows you to monitor the success of your online advertising and email marketing. You can see how many and when people are responding to your advertising. You can monitor whether people are opening your email marketing message. When used in conjunction with popular email marketing software like Broadcast, you know exactly who opened or clicked on a link within your message. With an ad tracking tool like Eztrackz, you can test whether one campaign produces more results than another, or whether one ad copy works better than another. In a nutshell, ad tracking gives you quantifiable numbers, so you don't have to guess if your advertising is working.

How do I view my 2007 report data?

New Eztrackz reporting functionality is being added to further enhance our service. To view your report data for 2007 (and before), click on the "Advanced Reporting" button on the Eztrackz homepage or click on this link to log-in and view your reports. Log-in by using the same username and password you use to log-in to your Eztrackz account.

Why do I need to track my ads?

To succeed, you must advertise. The challenge with advertising is you often don't know which advertisement actually results in traffic or sales. Without tracking you cannot determine which copy, medium (banner, ezine, article, etc.) or location (site a, site b, print ad a, etc.) works best for you.

Eztrackz tells you:

  • Whether the article you post results in traffic
  • Which ad copy works best for you
  • If people are opening your email marketing message

How much does it cost?

Depending on your requirements, the Eztrackz service comes in four subscription packages.

Bronze ($99 US/year) allows for 1000 clicks/counts per month

Silver ($199 US/year) allows for 5,000 clicks/counts per month

Gold ($299 US/year) allows for 10,000 clicks/counts per month

Platinum ($499 US/year) allows for 50,000 clicks/counts per month

Clicking on a tracking link and opening a message with an open-rate link embedded in the message count towards your monthly clicks/counts.

** Please note, overage charges apply if you exceed your allotted clicks per month.

What if I exceed my contracted number of clicks?

Overage charges apply, but your service continues. These charges are billed the month following the month that incurred the overage.

For Bronze, Silver and Gold subscribers, overage charges will be calculated at $.01 per click above the monthly package allowance.

For Platinum subscribers, overage charges is calculated at $.001 per click above the monthly package allowance.

Example: If you have the Silver edition (5000 clicks per month) and you exceed your number of clicks by 1000, you would be charged $10. If you exceed your clicks by 1500, you would be charged $15.

If you consistently incurring overage charges, consider moving up to the next service package.

I'm not sure Eztrackz is right for me. Do you offer a trial?

Yes, we offer a free trial account enabling you to track up to three campaigns, and view the results of 14 days of tracking with a combined total of 500 clicks. The full versions allow unlimited number of campaigns and track for the full life span of the campaign.

How do I upgrade my account after testing with a trial account?

To upgrade to a purchased customer from your trial account, log-in to your account. Here you will see your My Account screen. Simply choose a package and click on the "Buy Now" button.

Can I track advertising or emails for my clients?

Yes, unlike other tracking software products, with Eztrackz you can create client specific tracking links and allow your clients' secure access to view only their results.

If you are providing email or ad marketing services to your customers, this would be a great value add or an additional revenue stream. With any package, you can create unlimited sub-logins and give your clients secure passwords to view only their reports.

Do I need to download or host software?

No. Eztrackz is a service. All processing is handled on our servers. You do not need to host or download any software. All that is required is you log-in to your account, manage your links and view the results.

How does Eztrackz work and how do I start tracking?

  1. Sign up for a trial
  2. Log-in to your live real-time account
  3. Go to the LINKS screen
  4. Add a description of what is to be tracked, and type in the destination URL (tell Eztrackz where it should link)
  5. Place the tracking links within your message or advertisement
  6. After your mailing or ad campaign is completed, go to the REPORTS screen to view instant reporting of open-rates and click-thrus

What does a report look like and what information does Eztrackz provide?

Eztrackz provides a number of different reports depending on your requirements. The links report, as seen above, provides details on the number of clicks and unique clicks (for a particular link). It also shows the number of opens for an email message. Clicking on "details" gives additional information including referring url, date, etc.

If you have activated the sales tracking option, you can view additional reports that give specific information about your ad and sale.

What is the difference between "clicks" and "unique clicks"?

Clicks are counted every time someone clicks or opens your tracking link.

Unique clicks take into account that someone may repeatedly click on your link, and only increments the counter by one. Unique click counts are determined through the use of cookies. Cookies were developed to maintain the identity of a client so the web server can identify the client making the request. When someone clicks on your link, a cookie is created and is set to expire in 24 hours. If within the 24-hour period the same individual clicks on your link repeatedly, your unique click counter only registers one click.

Unique click counts are a more accurate measure of true response rates.

What is "open-rate" and how do I track the open-rate of my email message?

Open-rate is a count of how many times a person opens your email message in their email client.

Open-rate should be used as a measure of trends, and not an absolute value, as many factors can effect the validity of this number. If a client has the preview window on within Outlook, and they cursor over the email subject, this is counted as an open-rate. Open-rate can only be tracked in HTML messages, so if your message is displayed in text, the open will not be counted.

To activate an open-rate counter, you need to embed a clear image within your HTML messages. This gif loads when the message is opened and increments your open-rate counter. To embed and track this counter, you insert specific code.

You can find this code by creating a tracking link. (Note: when creating a tracking link, you must fill in a destination URL. This is irrelevant in this type of tracking, as the link is used to track open-rates rather than click-thrus to a specific site. To satisfy the requirement for this field, we suggest you enter your own website URL, click Get Link beside the link you created, and choose the open-rate tracking code. Insert this code into your HTML message to begin tracking.

Note: Using the open-rate counter can significantly increase the number of clicks-per-month count.

Can I track who opens my email message or any other variable?

Yes, if you are using Broadcast to send your email marketing message, you can track who opens or clicks on any of your tracking links. In fact, you can capture any type of data. If you are using Broadcast, you can track the email address of the person who opens or clicks on a link, as well as their name, company, etc.

For specifics on how to track who opens an email message, and other variables from the Broadcast software, please visit our Help Center.

You can also use these variable strings with any email marketing program or application. You will need to know the specific name for the variables, so please contact your application provider.

Can I track sales?

Yes, you can track whether a click on a particular tracking link results in a sale. This function is included in your Eztrackz subscription. To capture this information, you need to put specific HTML code on the order confirmation page on your website. When creating your individual tracking links, you must enable them to track sales by using the advanced screen.

Detailed information on this process can be found in the Help Center.

If you want to track the specific information of your sale (eg. a product name, price, etc.), you need to add additional code to your server side of the confirmation page. Please view the Sales Details Integration document in our Help Center for additional instruction.

Is Eztrackz secure? Will anyone else be able to view my statistics?

Eztrackz is completely secure. You are supplied a user id and password, and only you can view the results of your campaigns.

Can I use my own URL instead of the generic Eztrackz link URLs?

You can use your own URLs rather than the Eztrackz standard tracking URL format, but this requires the ability to create and have access to your web directories. For detailed instructions, please visit our Help Center.
